NetherSX2-classic is a modified and improved version of AetherSX2 build 3668, a PS2 emulator for Android. It applies the NetherSX2 anti-tampering hack and is originally based on NetherSX2 by Anon and EZOnTheEyes. It focuses on fixing RetroAchievements notifications, exposing more global settings to the user, updating the GameDB, controller support, widescreen and no-interlace patches, and adding AetherSX2/NetherSX2-specific game fixes. The APK is also re-signed to prevent the Google Play Store from auto-updating back to AetherSX2 3064. This variant (Classic 3668) is generally more performant than the Patched 4248 build and is recommended for Mali GPUs or less powerful devices. For more powerful or Adreno GPU devices, the 4248 variant may offer better graphical quality and bug fixes.
To use NetherSX2-classic, you'll need a legally dumped PS2 BIOS file from your own console, and game ISOs ripped from discs you own. For best performance, use the Vulkan GPU renderer and set Hardware Download Mode to Disable Readbacks. On Classic 3668, also enable Threaded Presentation when using Vulkan.
